Greene County district court, week ending Aug. 20

In Greene County district court Tyler Edward Proft, 19, of Boone was sentenced Aug. 18 to a pair of two-year prison terms after he pleaded guilty to charges of operating a vehicle without owner’s consent and eluding, amended from eluding causing injury while under the influence or participating in a felony. The prison terms are consecutive; both were suspended and Proft was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for two years. He must reside in a residential correctional facility until maximum benefits are attained. He must also undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He was fined $855 with a $128,25 surcharge; the fine and surcharge were suspended on the operating without consent charge. He must pay an amount not to exceed $1,200 in restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $190.06 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)

Austin Damian Wolfe, 23, of Des Moines was granted a deferred judgment after he pleaded guilty to a charge of harassment- third degree, amended from harassment- second degree. He was placed on informal probation to the Greene County sheriff for six months. He must pay a $105 civil penalty and an amount not to exceed $600 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees. Martin John Tolsdorf, 58, of Grand Junction was sentenced Aug. 18 to five years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine- third or subsequent offense. The prison term is concurrent to the sentence in another Greene County case. Tolsdorf was fined $1,025 with a $153.75 surcharge; both were suspended. The court found him unable to pay court costs. Persons pleaded not guilty as follows: Joshua Kelly Uranga, 42, of Pilot Mound, theft- third degree and forgery; Gailee Nichole Richter, 19, of Jefferson, possession of methamphetamine; Ian Graves, 22, of Jefferson, supply alcohol to person under legal age; Michelle A. Christian, 35, of Grand Junction, possession of methamphetamine- third or subsequent offense; Charles Raymond Bradshaw II, 57 of Jefferson, eluding; Tijera Takenya McQueen, 21, of Des Moines, possession of marijuana; Anthony Donald Davis, 32 of Scranton, eluding; Brittany Louise Hansen, 28, of Boone, operating while intoxicated and eluding; and Ryan James Brown, 49, of Jefferson, eluding, speed more than 25 mph over limit. Trial dates were set for Nov. 2 in every case.

Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that a case was initiated in district court against Anthony Robert Booth, 30, of Perry, criminal mischief- third degree, trespass causing injury or damage greater than $300, burglary- third degree, and theft- second degree. The warrant was issued April 7 and returned Aug. 2.

Cases were initiated in Greene County district court during the week ending Aug. 20 as follows: Andrew Furnace Jr, 26, of Laredo, TX, possession of marijuana; David A. Tibben, 37, of Scranton, theft- fourth degree; and Michelle Ann Cook, 22, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana.
